Image description

A combination picture shows six men wearing different masks of  traditional Bavarian "Buttenmandl" and "Krampusse" in the south German  town of Berchtesgaden, December 5, 2003. Buttenmandl and Krampusse are  unmarried men, dressed in straw and skins with animal masks or skins  over their heads and large cow-bells tied around their necks with which  they make loud and horrible noises. They follow Saint Nicholas from  house to house on December 5 and 6 every year to bring luck to the good  and punish the idle. REUTERS/Alexandra Winkler    AX/AS
