Image description

Charles James Fox (Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs) lies wounded by King George III. Edmund Burke (Paymaster of the Forces) and Frederick, Lord North (Secretary of State for the Home Department) crowd round in concern. The Battle of Leadenhall references the address of the East India Company. Fox had tried to pass the India Bill, which proposed to bring the wealthy and corrupt East India Company under tighter control. The King intervened to stop him, but his actions were viewed by many as a controversial exercise of royal power.
