Die Perucke war keineswegs neu (schon den alten Agyptern bekannt), aber erst im Barock und Rokoko wird sie mit der ubrigen kunstlichen Mode zum vollendeten Ausdruck fur die Naturferne jener Zeit. Translation: Wigs Maker. From the end of the 17th century, the guild of wig makers developed into an important trade. The time of the big long wigs begins, which is followed by other wig shapes. The wig was by no means new (already known to the ancient Egyptians), but only in the Baroque and Rococo periods did it, together with the rest of the artistic fashion, become the perfect expression of the remoteness from nature of that time.
