Image description

Trucks move containers at Qingdao Qianwan Container Terminal in the eastern port city of Qingdao, Shandong province. Britain's Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co Plc (P&O) and others will invest $887 million in Qianwan, under a pact inked during British Prime Minister Tony Blair's visit to China in July. Qingdao houses China's largest crude oil terminal with capacity of 200,000 tonnes, and the largest ore terminal with a similar capacity. Total container volume for Qingdao port, is likely to hit 7.4 million tonnes by 2005 and 10 million tonnes by 2010. Picture taken August 13, 2003. REUTERS/Claro Cortes IV CC/RCS
