A group of British plane-spotters convicted on security charges in Greece six months ago appealed on Monday for Prime Minister Tony Blair to take up their case as they prepare to return. Blair was meeting visiting Greek leader Costas Simitis at Downing Street on Monday, a week before the appeal is due to start in southern Greece. In a case which prompted outrage in Britain and introduced the Greeks to the world of plane-spotting, 14 British and Dutch enthusiasts were convicted in April of illegally obtaining national secrets.
