Speedway, Australian Test Team 1936. Riders, left to right: A Wilkinson (West Ham), Ron Johnson (New Cross), Lionel Van Praag (Wembley), Vic Huxley (Captain) (Wimbledon), Dicky Case (Hackney Wick), and Max Grosskreutz (Belle Vue). Australia met England in the first official Speedway Test Match at Wembley on 28 May 1936. Australia held the English team for the first half of the meeting when the score read England 32, Australia 22, but afterwards could not reproduce their true form, the final result being England 65 points, Australia 43 points.
