The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles), 1914. Recruitment poster printed by Gale and Polden Limited, 1914. The Cameronians were formed in 1881 by merging the 26th (The Cameronians) Regiment of Foot and the 90th Regiment of Foot (Perthshire Volunteers) (Light Infantry). In 1914 there were two regular and five territorial and reserve battalions on strength but this number expanded greatly during the war.
