St. Martin is lead by the devil in the form of a beggar into temptation. The illustration shows the extended legend, after another time after the meeting with the beggar, the devil, also denuded of all clothing, leads the Holy into temptation. The same sharing his cloak again, is mocked by the devil who reveals himself. But St. Martin responds: I did it for the love of Christ. Pen drawing in brown ink.

Der heilige Martin wird von dem Teufel in Gestalt eines Bettlers in Versuchung geführt. Die Darstellung zeigt die erweiterte Legende, nach der zu einer anderen Zeit nach dem Zusammentreffen mit dem Bettler der Teufel, ebenfalls aller Kleidung entblösst, den Heiligen in Versuchung führt. Derselbe teilt wieder seinen Mantel und wird darauf von Teufel, der sich zu erkennen gibt, verspottet. Doch St. Martin antwortet: Ich habe es aus Liebe zu Christus getan. Federzeichnung in Bister.
