Image description

An Iraqi employee looks through a fence surrounding a destroyed Uranium Extraction Plant at al Qaim, Anbar province, 420km (281 miles) west of Baghdad September 2, 2002. Iraq, accused by Washington of being part of an "axis of evil", took reporters on a tour of a phosphate complex stamped by the West as a weapons site, as part of a campaign to repudiate U.S. allegations that it is stockpiling weapons of mass destruction. They were shown the uranium extraction plant of the Phosphate Complex. The uranium plant was completely destroyed during the 1991 Gulf War and debris was removed under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). REUTERS/Faleh Kheiber FK
