Canadian artist, known only as Sola, works on her Sydney Tapestry May 17 that she hopes will be seen as an historical document to celebrate Sydney's hosting of the 2000 Olympic Games. The tapestry, which Sola works on using only her memory of the scene and without the aid of drawings or photographs, will have involved when completed more than 2500 hours of weaving, and follows on from her work on a similar piece for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. She is hoping to work on more tapestries for future Olympic Games being hosted in Salt Lake City and Athens. DG/DL
