Designers Vincenzo Ferdinandi (1920-90) and Emilio Schuberth (1904-72) attending a S.I.A.M. press conference at the Association of Roman Press. The Italian High Fashion Syndicate (SIAM) was founded by designers including Schuberth and Ferdinandi in 1953 in disagreement with the Florentine nobleman Giovanni Battista Giorgini considered the founder of high fashion in Italy.
