The Cruise of the Kings (Colour Litho)

The Kings' Cruise. Invited by the Sovereigns of Greece, over 80 kings, queens, princes and princesses of all the Courts of Europe, on the throne as the guests and Juliana of Holland, or in exile like Umberto and Maria Jose of Savoy, have participated by mere mortals on a cruise on a steamer made available by the Hellenic Navy. They left Naples on 22 August and returned there on 2 September after touching the main Greek ports. Once any label on board was abolished, for the first time many royals found themselves at the table not in a ceremonial dress, but in the skimpy beach ones. Morning and night.
