Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany The 11th US Airborne Division stationed in Augsburg during exercises on the formations and structures of the US Army. The units were reorganized at that time: here the old division, consisting of three regiments with 20 companies each (sides of the triangle), which had six artillery battalions (inside the triangle, marked with machine guns) for support. The aim of the restructuring was to adapt to the new challenges of a possible nuclear war.
