UNITED AIRLINES FLIGHT 93 MEMORIAL CHAPEL NEARS COMPLETION, 2002-09-05 (photo)

The Rev. Alphonse Mascherino, shown September 5, 2002, bought a small 100-year old church with the idea of making it a non-denomenational place of worship for visitors to the United Airlines Flight 93 crash site just outside Shanksville, Pennsylvania. After putting months of his own labor and his own money into the project, he's getting help from a local lumber company, which has donated all labor and materials and is trying to finish the project in time for the coming one-year anniversary of the terror attacks.
