White witch Kevin Carlyon performs an invocation on the banks of Loch Ness in an attempt to summon the Loch Ness Monster, June 13, 2003. Carlyon, a former wrestler, strode around the four cardinal compass points at the loch on Friday and called on the elements of earth, air, fire and water to use their powers to let the monster, known as Nessie, surface to safety. For centuries, there have been stories of strange creatures in Loch Ness but modern day reports did not start until 1933 and the question of Nessie's existence has since grown into one of the world's most famous and enduring myths.
