Israeli soldiers sprint along the Lebanon border as they take up positions as rapid-fire shots ring out May 23 while thousands of former SLA fighters and their families wait in line nearby seeking asylum in Israel. It is believed that the Hizbollah forces were taking over the outskirts of this border town or the SLA fighters waiting in line to cross were becoming impatient and fired in the air from several directions. The Israeli proxy militia SLA fighters were let into Israel slowly after all weapons were relinquished to the Israeli army. As Israel escalates its withdrawal from southern Lebanon its proxy force in southern Lebanon, the South Lebanon Army (SLA), is being left in a vacumn as the Hizbollah forces move into the area with SLA fighters, their families and Christians from the south are seeking asylum inside Israel.
