Singer Gunvor Berglund at a gramophone. She's listening to a 78-track record she's loaded into her handy Brunswick brand travel gramophone. By cranking a crank on the front, the gramophone is powered by a spring. Usually you could listen to a side without having to wind up the gramophone again. When your heard that the recording began to slow down, you knew you had to wind i up again. The records were made of fragile material and the speed of the record to sound as it should was 78 revolutions per minute. When the sound got worse, you had to change the pin on the gramophone, and you did it yourself by unscrewing the old one and inserting a new one. 1943.
