The Crystal Palace was dismantled from Hyde Park and re-erected on a larger scale at Sydenham in south London at a cost of £1,300,000. It was opened on 10 June 1854 by Queen Victoria. To the left is a glass tunnel leading to Crystal Palace railway station built to receive visitors travelling from central London.
