A MAN FORMERLY FROM NORTH KOREA WEEPS IN SEOUL, 2000-08-04 (photo)

Ju Young-sik, 71, originally from North Korea and separated from his family since before the Korean War weeps at Red Cross Society headquarters in Seoul August 4, 2000 after he was told that the Red Cross has not confirmed that his family members in North Korea were still alive. Earlier, North and South Korean Red Cross societies exchanged lists of 200 candidates from each side to determine whether their families over the border were still alive. A total of 200 people from the two Koreas will cross the world's most heavily-armed border for the August 15 reunion of families. LJW/HL/PB
