A female elephant named Yod Pet, 45, climbs into a truck for transportation from the streets of the Thai capital late March 14, just days after the government imposed a ban on the pachyderms in Bangkok. About 20 elephants that have remained in Bangkok were taken back to the Thai jugles from where they came, but the elephant owners say the ban on roaming Bangkok's streets will not solve the long term question of how Thailand's elephants will survive the loss of their rural habitat, and now a lack of income to feed them from tourists in the Thai capital.
