Image description

BREITLING ORBITER III FLIGHT CONTROL CREW CELEBRATES THE FIRST NON-STOP CIRCUMNAVIGATE THE GLOBE IN BALLOON. Metrologist Luc Trullemanns shows the back of Alan Noble's sweater which shows the pictures of the Orbiter III flight crew, Bertrand Piccard and Brian Jones in Geneva March 20. Piccard of Switzerland and Jones of Great Britain on Saturday became the first men ever to fly round the world non-stop in a hot-air balloon, mission spokesman Steve Axentios said. The pair notched up the feat as they crossed the 9.27 degrees west line of longitude above northern Mauritania, exactly 20 days after their Breitling Orbiter 3 launched from Switzerland.
