The desert wildfire roared out of control near the Plutonium Uranium Extraction facility at the Hanford nuclear reservation in southeast Washington State burning some 200,000 acres. Although much of the fire has been contained, flareups are still spread out across the desert. Some 7,000 people were evacuated and about 36 structures, including 25 homes, were destroyed in the fire. One man was seriously burned and dozens of people have been treated for smoke inhalation. APB
