Former South African President and Nobel Peace prizewinner Nelson Mandela (L) shakes hands with members of the Tanzanian Olympic Team after he received his honourary doctorates at Sydney University September 4, 2000. Mandela greeted and talked to the seven members that make up the team, as well as shaking hands with a small group of students who waited outside the hall where he received a Doctor of Law from both the University of Sydney and the University of Technology. Mandela will continue on his week-long tour of Australia, visiting Canberra and Melbourne later this week. DG/CC
