Jun. 15, 1953 - Floods in Lower Bavaria, - Greding afflicted by storms and cloud-bursts. - Fifty families lost home and property. During the weekend, the village of Greding, near Nuremberg Southern Germany, was afflicted by heavy storms and cloud-bursts. the Muehl-rill, in summer usually a dead watercourse, all over a sudden turned to a 200 meters wide raging river and carried away stable, sheds, household-furniture ad thousands of hundred-weights of grain. Many acres of corn-land were devastated and fifty families - mostly war-veterans, poor refugees and others, escaped luckily their downed houses. Keystone Photo shows: - The victims of the greding-floods seen trying to save the rest of their destroyed property.
