Kaethe Reichel protests for a new GDR on 4 November, 1989 (b/w photo)

Berlin born actress Kaethe Reichel (C) carries a poster with political requests during the biggest demonstration for a different GDR. Between half a million and a million people walk through the city centre, past the Volkskammer and the building of the Council of State, to a manifestation at Alexanderplatz. Kaethe Reichel belongs to the artists of Berlin who had registered this demonstration for more freedom of the press. The activities form into a protest against the reigning conditions in the country.
