Lovebirds brooch, c 1850. A lovebirds brooch, created by an unknown artist in about 1850. A reverse silhouette carving shows two lovebirds resting on a birdbath. The brooch frame has a decorative leaf motif, seen from the reverse in this image. The brooch could be swivelled around to show either side, depending on the wearer. A photograph of a young woman appears on the reverse.
