Commodore of the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia Hugo van Kretschmar (R) and Chairman of the Review Committee Peter Bush answer questions during a media conference in Sydney June 1 after they announced the findings of the 1998 Sydney-Hobart Race Review Committee report after six sailors died, 55 crew were rescued and seven boats were abondoned during last years race. The report was most critical of official weather reports which had forecast the severe storm, but failed to explain in "layman's" terms that sailors should expect 40 percent stronger winds and 86 percent larger seas.
