Opposition supporters try to stop people from entering the building of the ruling Socialist party headquarters after Ratko Zecevic, head of the local and regional branches of the Socialist party fired his gun into the air from the balcony of the party's headquarters during an anti-government rally in town of Prokuplje, about 275 km (165 miles) south of Belgrade July 8. Eight shots were fired into the air as an anti-government rally got under way in the southern Serbian town of Prokuplje, eyewitnesses said. They said the shots were fired behind the stage set up in the town's main square, in front of a building belonging to the local branch of Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic's Socialist Party.
