Groups of people climb the span of the Sydney Harbour Bridge with the sails of the Sydney Opera House visible in the foreground on a stormy day in Sydney November 1, 2000. Between the days of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games from September 15 to the 1st of October, more than 19,000 climbers walked the 1.5 kilometres across the bridge, with the busiest day totalling more than 21 hours of continual groups. More than 350,000 people have climbed over the bridge since the government allowed the private company to take groups over the famous Sydney landmark just over two years ago. DG/PB
