STATE OFFICIALS AND FAMILY MEMBERS GATHER AT THE GRAVE OF MONGOLIAN DEMOCRACY LEADER ZORIG IN ULAN BATOR. State officials and family members gather at the grave of slain Mongolian democracy leader Sanjaasurengiin Zorig October 7. People brought blue silk sashes in a traditional sign of respect to Zorig. Tens of thousands of mourners lined the streets of Mongolia's capital as a coffin containing Zorig's body was driven to a burial ground. Dubbed Mongolia's "Golden Magpie of Democracy", Zorig was hacked to death on October 2. His killing has been branded as an assassination by enemies of democracy.
