Oil painting on canvas (oval), Catherine Crewe, Lady Harpur (1682 – 1745), after Charles Jervas (Dublin 1675 – London 1739), inscribed to the right: Catherine Lady Harpur/Daughter of/Thomas Ld.Crewe. An oval half-length portrait of a lady, wearing a white dress with decolletage. Her right elbow rests on a support to the left. Her hair hangs in brown tresses on her shoulders. She was the wife of Sir John Harpur, 4th Bt (see CAL/P/309 and CAL/P/322). This portrait was presented to Sir Vauncey in 1918 by the Marquis of Crewe.
