An oval three-quarter-length portrait of a boy, turned to the right, gazing at the spectator, with shoulder-length blond hair, his left hand on the head of a spaniel, right which looks up at him. He is wearing a pale brown coat and frilled white collar and cuffs and has a black hat under his right arm. Landscape setting, tree to the left, trees and shrubs and sky to the right.
