A dramatic adventure (colour litho)

A dramatic adventure. In Basel, a 9-year-old schoolboy, evaded the tutor's surveillance, crossed the barrier surrounding the bear pit and started throwing carrots at the beasts. But, lost his balance, he fell; a brown bear attacked him trying to bite him. The boy bravely defended himself until a caretaker intervened and the fair went away. The boy suffered injuries to his arms and legs; he would have had worse fate if the companions had not distracted the attention of the other bears by continually throwing carrots at them.
