Flames in the Sky (Colour Litho)

Flames in the sky. On board a DC 7 C, flying from New York to Paris, a fire broke out. The device, on which Mike Bongiorno was traveling, was in the middle of the Atlantic when flames emanated from an engine. The commander, Captain Kare Harfjord, put in place all the means to block the fire, mute course and point on Boston. Meanwhile, the fire was extinguished; the plane regularly landed in Boston. The cold blood of the pilots and the calm of the passengers prevented a catastrophe. Mike Bongiorno said it was a tremendous experience. Illustration for Courier Sunday, 10 November 1957.
