Attack on Mona Lisa (colour litho)

The attack on Mona Lisa. A foreigner, confused among the many visitors to the Louvre Museum, threw a rock at Leonardo's Mona Lisa. The stone broke the glass used to protect the famous portrait and hit the smiling lady causing a healable wound in a few days of restoration. The author of the vandalic gesture is the Bolivian Ugo Anzaga Villegas. He told the Commissioner that he did not know why he had thrown the rock; then he confessed that, finding himself in difficulty, he had wanted to do something to get arrested and spend the winter in prison.
