Cap badge, other ranks, Black Watch (Royal Highlanders), 1902-35. A rayed and faceted star similar to the Star of the Order of the Thistles. Upon the centre, within a wreath of the thistles, an oval frosted circle bearing the burnished motto: 'nemo me impune lacesset' and surmounted by a monarchial crown. Within the circlet the figure of St Andrew holding his cross upon a frosted ground. On either side of the crown, frosted scrolls bearing the burnished unit tite. Below the wreath, a sphinx resting upon a tablet. On either side of the sphinx, frosted scrolls bearing the burnished unit title. Brass slider fitting upon the reverse. The reverse also bears the remains of two brass loops.; Upon the centre, within a wreath of the thistles, an oval frosted circle bearing the burnished motto: 'NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSET'. On either side of the crown, frosted scrolls bearing the burnished tite: 'THE ROYAL/HIGHLANDERS'.
