Lion-headed and man-eating giants

Marvels of the East England [Winchester?]; second quarter of 11th cent Language: Latin; Old English Source/Shelfmark: Cotton Tiberius B. V, Part 1, f.81v [Whole folio] Left; nude lion-headed man, stooping to left, with a rock behind. These are described as men of three colours, lion-headed, twenty feet long, with huge mouths; if pursued, they flee and sweat blood. Right; dark nude man with mane and hairy spine, he bends as he bites the head of a small man whom he holds; with rocks behind. These are described as huge men with legs twelve feet long; bodies seven feet broad, black in colour, and they devour whomever they catch. Text below Image taken from Marvels of the East.
