German prisoners captured in the Bazooka Alley area, south of Bocholt, March 1945. Photograph by Major Wilfred Herbert James Sale, MC, 3rd/4th County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters), World War Two, North West Europe, 1945. ‘A’ Squadron cleared the village of Bocholt on 28 March in conjunction with a company of the 4th Royal Welch Fusiliers. They took over 100 prisoners, most of whom were 16 years of age, whilst sustaining seven casualties.
