Munich, Bavaria, Germany On the occasion of the state visit of Carl XVI Gustaf and his wife Silvia of Sweden many onlookers and media representatives gathered in front of the Munich "Vier Jahreszeiten" hotel to catch a glimpse of the royal couple. The Swedish royal couple was very popular in Germany as well. Silvia of Sweden (born Silvia Renate Sommerlath) is a native German and met her future husband as a hostess at the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972.
