Memorial Unter den Linden (New Guardhouse), 1931 (b/w photo)

The Neue Wache Unter den Linden in Berlin, converted into a memorial for the fallen, was ceremoniously opened on June 2, 1931: the flag company of the Reichswehr marches past the guard and the guests of honor, including Reich President Paul von Hindenburg (on the left in the picture), the Reich government and Prussian state government, the heads of the branches of the armed forces, representatives of the diplomatic corps, the universities, the city of Berlin and officers of the Old Army. Next to Paul von Hindenburg the navy chief Erich Raeder and on the left presumably Major General Werner von Blomberg can be seen.
