Image description: Portrait of Gaspar de Crayer (1584-1669), Flemish artist, in grisaille, nearly three-quarter-length, turned to the right, facing the spectator, in dark slashed dress with a white collar and a dark cloak, his right hand to his chest. Engraved by P. Pontius (Wibiral, 46). From a set of grisaille portraits by Van Dyck of artists and distinguished persons, for engravers to work from. The panels, with the exception of M.188, are all in identical English 18th Century carved and gilded Palladian frames, with tongue-and-leaf outer edge and foliate sight edge.
