Annual military parade and demonstration celebrating the 71st anniversary of the revolution. The military parade begins with the Minister of Defense, Dmitrii Yazov riding out of the Kremlin in an open car. He drives across the Red Square and salutes Commander of the Parade Marshal Kochetov. Various branches of the armed forces march in a 36 minute parade and then tanks and other weapons are displayed. This portion of the program was greatly reduced in relation to previous years.
