Tue. 22, 1954 - Addendum picture to our March 18, 1954 service picture. 24 year old American aviator Fred D. Eklins arrived “happily in the port of marriage” after hitchhiking across half the world to visit his German bride. As an airlift pilot, he first met his Helga at the Berlin-Tempelhof airport, but they could only just now get married, because Fred would always get reassigned to another post just when everything was ready for the wedding. For their vacation they traveled as hitchhikers from the Philippines to Berlin. Now they are just waiting on Helga's entry permit to the United States. Apart from that, the two are completely happy
