U.S. protestor Bert Sacks, who led the U.S. group Voices in the Wilderness to Baghdad last month as part of their campaign for the lifting of UN sanctions, stands outside the United Nations office in Amman holding a bottle of polluted drinking water from the southern Iraqi city of Basra December 2. Sacks said American bombing of Basra in the 1991 Gulf War and continuing sanctions had destroyed Iraq's water sanitation plants.
