WILHELM SIMSON CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD AND CEO OF THE GERMAN UTILITY GROUP VIAG AG ADDRESSES A NEWS CONFERENCE IN MUNICH. Wilhelm Simson, chief executive of the German utility group Viag AG pose for the media prior to the annual news conference in Munich, December 9. Germany's Veba AG said on Thursday the terms of its merger with Viag AG to form Europe's third largest diversified utility had been revised to reflect the strength of Viag's telecoms business. The revised merger terms give Viag shareholders a 35.5 percent share of the new group, to Veba's 64.5 percent. The original split was 67 to 33 in Veba's favour. Viag's shares jumped more than six percent or 1.04 euros to 16.64 while Veba fell almost four percent and was down 1.5 euros at 44 euros after the new merger terms were released.
