German soldiers march through a German city which was attacked by Allied bombing on the French border in October 1944. The Nazi propaganda text dated 28 October 1944 reads "Protective position Moselland. Our soldiers are involved in the heaviest of fighting in the western areas of the Reich. The enemy, who are attacking using the strongest materials, has accrued heavy losses. The civilians, who wouldn't leave their homeland despite the terror of aerial bombings, now have to be led out of the threatened border towns. While soldiers are defending the homeland with their lives, women, children and the elderly are being brought to safety in the interior of the Reich. Men of every age and vocation are digging tank trenches and build blockades to defend the home turf - Our soldiers are marching fowards through the German cities along the front, which have been set alight by enemy planes.
