A South Korean woman, holding a symbolic urn supposedly filled with the ashes of democracy, walks beside her grandson during a street march in front of the ruling New Korea Party building in Seoul November 14. About 30 relatives of so-called prisoners of conscience held a mock funeral to "bury democracy." [The group is particularly incensed that high profile politicians and their relatives, including President Kim Young-sam's son, are often freed after serving just small portions of their sentences while many of their relatives are serving life sentences for such offences as trying to organise labour unions]. The government says there are no political prisoners in Korea.
