Meditation, painting (1893) by Henri Rachou (1856-1944) - Henri Rachou, painter and curator of the Musee des Augustins in Toulouse, represents here the state of the museum in the 1890s. Ancient and medieval sculptures were exhibited in the galleries of the cloister. However, the presence of the monk is anachronistic since the place has been desacralized since the French Revolution. This appearance gives the painting the character of a reverie on the pass.
