FOR RELEASE WITH BC-SINGAPORE-BIRDFARM - A Macaw parrot clings on to its cage at the Avifauna Breeding and Research farm in Singapore. Singapore physician Quek Tee Beng has turned a lifelong fancy for birds into a flourishing business and now sells his pampered - and raucous - charges to the far corners of the world. Quek runs one of the world's few commercial bird farms, breeding more than 1,000 birds a year of more than 150 rare and exotic species, including pigeons, parakeets, pheasants and even chickens, for export to countries in Asia, Europe and America.
