EURO SCULPTURE IS ILLUMINATED IN FRONT OF ECB IN FRANKFURT, 2002-01-01 (photo)

The reflection of a huge euro symbol sculpture, constructed by German designer Ottmar Hoerll, is seen reflected in the windows of the European Central Bank (ECB) headquarters in Frankfurt, during an illumination test December 19, 2001. The scultpture will offcially be unveiled on the night from December 31 to January 1. During the last days thousands of people queued outside banks to get small plastic bags "euro starter kits" containing all eight denominations of newly minted Euro coins, in view of the January 1, 2002 European changeover.
